Lucinda was the eleventh child of Elizabeth Mutter and Thomas Blount Littlejohn. She married Alexander Strachan Jones of Warren County, North Carolina on April 3, 1839. He was the son of Martha Ann Taylor Strachan and Col. John Wesley Jones. Their home, known as "Woodley", was located in Warren County near the intersection of U.S. 401 and State Road 1604 (Limertown Road). Remnants of the house foundation are approximately one half mile back from the road in dense forest, and the Jones family cemetery, in poor condition and overgrown, is situated nearby. A single monument marks the graves of Lucinda's father-in-law, husband, three of her ten children, and an infant grandson. Lucinda outlived her husband by 34 years, and died in Henderson, NC, where she had been living with her daughter, Alice Mutter Jones Cheek. Her funeral was held at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Innocents in Henderson, and was conducted by Bishop Joseph Blount Cheshire. Burial was in the Cheek family plot in Elmwood Cemetery, as noted on page 216 of the church Burial Register. There is one unmarked grave beside her daughter Alice.
