Joseph D. A. "Don" Clement was reunited with his beloved wife, Billie, on their 60th anniversary, January 29th, 2014. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Alice Clement and brother Paul. His only living brother, Jack and his wife Fran, live in Texas.

Don was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on March 3, 1926. As a young man, he learned carpentry skills from his father. On his 17th birthday, March 3, 1943, he joined the U.S. Navy to serve his country in World War II. After boot camp, he served as a gunner on the S.S. Henry Wynkoop, a Liberty Ship, with the Armed Guard in the North Atlantic facing German Wolfpack sub attacks and at Normandy Beach on D-Day. After the war ended, he returned home.

In 1949, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard, based out of Miami, FL.

In 1951, he joined the U.S. Air Force. While stationed in Washington D.C., he met his wife, Billie, who was working at the FBI, and they married in 1954. While they were stationed in England, daughter Donna was born. After returning to the states, he was stationed at Sewart Air Force Base in Smyrna, TN, where son Joey was born. He was introduced to the Lord by Al Sligh and missionary Dick Cimino, and trusted Christ in 1963. He was instrumental in starting Calvary Baptist Church in Smyrna, and held many services in his home in the beginning. After retirement from the Air Force in 1967, he settled in Middle Tennessee. Don was talented in carpentry and wood working skills and was known to be able to fix anything that was broken. After retirement, he built houses, cabinets, drove a school bus, and worked at Capitol Airways. After Billie passed away in 2011, he moved to Adam's Place assisted living where he has lived for the last three years.

Together, Don and Billie leave a daughter, Donna and husband Jeff King of Palatka, FL; and son, Joey and wife Serene Clement of Murfreesboro, TN. Grandchildren include Chandler King of Murfreesboro, TN; Marcia and husband John Trull of Spartanburg, SC; Rachel and husband Nate Reed of Murfreesboro, TN; Joe and wife Jill Clement of Cookeville, TN; and Hannah Clement of Murfreesboro, TN; and great-grandsons, William and Samuel King.

He will be buried with full military honors.
