GERMANTON— Franklin Delano Watts, 78, died peacefully on Saturday February 1, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

He was born December 13, 1935 to the late Marshall Poindexter and Gracie Alma Davis Watts. Frank graduated from Germanton High School in 1954. He loved basketball and was selected to the Journal and Sentinel Northwest All-Star team in 1953 and 1954. He worked briefly at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and then spent 33 years in the grading business. Frank was a Real Estate Broker and partner in Watts Realty. He served on the board of directors at Northwest Bank. He was also a member of Germanton United Methodist Church.

A 2:00 pm service will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Burroughs Chapel with Rev. Robert Lattimore officiating. Burial will follow at Germanton United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law; Beth Corn and husband Steve, and 1 son; John Watts.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Tesh Watts, son; Jeff Watts and wife Beth, 5 grandchildren; Chase Corn, Grant Waters and wife Brooke, Grace Watts and fiancé Tyler Shumate, Meredith Brown and husband Gil, and Morgan Watts and fiancé Luke Fulp, 2 great-grandchildren; Alaena and Davis.
