Julia L. "Judy" Turner
January 26, 1938 – January 31, 2014
Julia L Turner, 76 of Monroe died at 4:10 p.m. Friday in her home surrounded by her family. She had been in poor health for eighteen months.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev Gary Pickrell, associate pastor of the Monroe Full Gospel Church, will officiate with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery Monroe.
Born January 26, 1938 in Monroe she was the daughter of Carl and Margaret (Hurd) Bressler. She married Robert M. "Mitch" Turner on August 14, 1954 in Monroe. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2005.
Judy was employed by Monroe Foam Rubber Products Company and Howard Ternes Packaging both in Monroe. She retired in 2000.
She was a member of Teamster Local 723 and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed seeing the accomplishments her children and grandchildren. She was an avid Detroit Tiger fan, gardener and cook and always welcomed all to her dinner table.
Surviving are her children Robert Michael (Sheila) Turner of Monroe, Benjamin (Norma) Turner of Monroe, Alice (Martin) Dorf of Dayton, Ohio, Sandra Falls-Peterson of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Jeffrey (Melissa) Turner of Monroe, John (Rhonda) Turner of Newport, Kimberly (Robert) Krimm of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Michelle Jennings of Monroe; brother Carl (Judy) Bressler of Toledo; sister Mary Lou Lyons of Monroe; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband Mitch; son Charles D. Turner; granddaughter Andrea Turner; grandson Scott Falls; great-grandson Bobby Ray Carter IV; brother Gerald Bressler and sisters Norma Ann Bressler and Eva Mae Wylie.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mercy Memorial Hospice.
