Ruth Ellen Fowler Collier of Linden, North Carolina went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday March 18, 2016 in south Florida surrounded by her son and family. Ruth was a devoted wife and mother. She was cherished by her family and friends and loved the Lord.
Ruth was born on October 29, 1933 in Erwin, North Carolina to Charles (Charlie) D. and Noreen J. Fowler. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty years Clayton Jr.; three sisters, Edna, Ivaleen, and Shelby.
Ruth is survived by two sisters June and Dorothy, two brothers Charles and Winford, and two sons Horace, Michael and wife Nancy. Known as Ma to her grandchildren, Ruth was loved by six grandchildren, Zachary, Brittany, April, Lynsey, Clayton, and Mary Ellen, and three great-grandchildren Lexi, Genna, and Aubree. She will also be remembered by many, both family and friends, as the very loving Aunt Ruth Ellen.
Ruth graduated from Methodist University in 1982 with a BA in Education.
Ruth will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
