Noma Francis Rasmussen, 71, died Saturday at the Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Ut., following a sudden illness.

She was born March 6, 1916 in Pocatello, to Roy B. and Mabel F. Potter Root.

She married Leslie C. Rasmussen June 17, 1934 in Randolph, Ut.

She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was active in the Catholic Ladies League. She was also a member of the Union Pacific Old Timers Auxiliary, the Ladies Engineers and Firemen and held many offices in those organizations. She was a dance instructor.

She is survived by her husband of Montpelier; two sons, Larry Rasmussen, Mesa, Ariz.; Jack Rasmussen, Bountiful, Ut.; one brother, Roy Bruce Root, Springfield, Va.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Ernest Anderson, celebrant. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was Tuesday at Matthews Mortuary. Burial was in Montpelier Cemetery. The family suggests donations to the Arthritis Foundation.
