Donna was born Oct. 6, 1915, in Woodson County, the daughter of Hale T. and Becca (Schooling) Chellis. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Cramer.
Donna graduated from Yates Center High School in 1933. She was a 50 year member of Eastern Star as well as a member of the First Christian Church in Yates Center.
On July 7, 1935, Donna married Eugene W. Brashear of Belle Plaine. The couple lived in Garnett, Marysville and Troy. Eugene preceded Donna in death on Nov. 14, 1970. Donna then moved to Highland to be a Dorm Parent at Highland Community College. Later, Donna retired and moved back to Yates Center on July 7, 1977.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene, her aunt and uncle Cramer, a sister Becca Yarber and half-sister Marcella Redfearn; two nephews and three nieces.
She is survived by a nephew, Howard Yarder, as well as six great-nieces and nephews; two great-great nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation is planned and private family services will take place at a later date.
