Tempie Jane Whitson Stogsdill, 80 years of age, of the Grundy community of Pulaski County, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, January 30th, 2014 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Tempie was born on November 28th, 1933 in Grundy, Kentucky, daughter of the late Eva Simpson Whitson. Tempie was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church No#1. Tempie married Oliver Neil Stogsdill on January 8th, 1953 and dedicated herself to keeping her home and raising her family.
Tempie was survived by two daughters, Linda Kaye (and Randy)Hargis and Alma Lee Bingham; two sons, William Jesse (and Wilma) Stogsdill and James Willis Stogsdill; two brothers, James Whitson and Albert (and Elaine) Whitson; two sisters, Hannah (and James) Bradley and Ethal Bradley; twelve grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
Tempie was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Oliver Neil Stogsdill, whom she married on January 8th, 1953 and who departed this life on July 30th, 1990; one son Gene O'Neil Stogsdill; her mother, Eva Simpson Whitson; and two sisters, Mildred Stogsdill and Alta Sears.
Visitations were held on Monday, February 3rd, 2014 after 6:00 p.m. at the Somerset Undertaking Company in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 4th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Somerset Undertaking Company with Bro. Doug Egger's officiating.
Burial followed in the Burkhart Cemetery in Shopville, Kentucky.
