Kevin Bret Kennedy, our special son and brother, returned to his Heavenly Father on Oct. 13, 1994, after a long and courageous battle with a brain tumor.
Kevin was born on August 8, 1970, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Jerry R. and Joleene Kennedy. He graduated from Hillcrest High School and the University of Utah, where he served as president of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a friend, a leader, and an example to all who knew him.
Kevin loved athletics, especially tennis. He was a tennis instructor at the Cottonwood Country Club and at the Snowbird Canyon Racquet Club. He loved hunting, fishing, and the outdoors, where he and his brothers, Cory and Kelly, strengthened their eternal friendship.
Kevin is survived by his parents and his brothers, of Sandy, Utah; his grandmothers, Ruth Kennedy of Sandy, Utah; Verda Webb of Payson, Utah; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as his many "Pike" brothers and other friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Otto R. Kennedy and Elmer J. Schwartz.
We will miss you, Kevin, but we know you are with your grandpas and friends who have gone before. We hope the tennis courts are smooth and the fishing is great. We will see you soon.
Services will be held Monday, October 17th, at 12 Noon, at the Union 27th Ward Chapel, 1433 Old Mission Road (approx. 80th So.) Friends may call at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1700 East, Sunday evening, from 6-8 p.m., and at the ward on Monday, from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, Kevin would appreciate contributions to the American Cancer Society, through the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, Attn: Dave Reardon, 41 University Street, SLC, Utah 84112.
