LARS M. OLSON
Funeral services for Lars M. Olson, who passed away at his home in the east part of town on Monday evening, January 25, was held on Thursday afternoon last week, at the home and at Salem Lutheran church, with his pastor, Rev. Olaf Holen, officiating. Burial was made in the Roland cemetery. Special music consisted of a duet by Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Boyd. The pall bearers were, Leo Olson, Clarence Hovde, Ole Brendeland, Joe Hovde, Magnus Olson, Jeral Hovde.
Lars M. Olson was born at Vallestrand, Norway, on February 1, 1867, a son of Ole and Malinda Haugen, and died at his home in Roland on January 25, 1943, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 24 days.
He is survived by his wife and seven children, Mrs. J. S. Wilson, Mrs. Elliott Thompson and Sanford Olson, of Roland; J. M. Olson of Nevada; Lawrence Olson of San Diego, Calif.; and Mrs. James Bergeson and Mrs. Roscoe Anderson of Story City. One daughter, Esther Viola, died in infancy, and one son, Otis, died last August. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Hannah Hovde of Roland, and one brother, Martin Olson of Greybull, Wyo.
All the children were present at the funeral, Lawrence Olso of San Diego, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Olson, Betty and Larry of Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. James Bergeson and Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Anderson, of Story City, besides those residing in Roland.
