Helen M. (Jennings) Doerter, 92, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She graduated from Central High School in 1940 and was a homemaker. In her spare time, Helen loved to play Bridge, and was a crossword puzzle enthusiast. She and her husband were charter members of the Tri-State Racquet Club and enjoyed many years of tennis together. They were also long time members of the Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
Helen and her husband were residents at Solabron Pointe for 10 years, and her family wishes to extend a "thank you" to the staff at Solabron for their care and compassion.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert "Bob" F. Doerter; brother, William Jennings; and her parents, Browder and Josie (Eaton) Jennings.
She is survived by her son, Bill (Pam) Doerter; daughter, Jill (Walt) Brunton; grandchildren, Max (Mindy), Nick, Casey, Clay (Rose) and Jenna; three great-grandchildren;
