Robert I. Rash, 99, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Friday, November 11, 2011 in Twilight Gardens Home.

He was born June 6, 1912 in Lebanon, Kansas to the late Fred L. and Maude B . (Spurlin) Rash and came to this area in 1948 from Lorain, Ohio.

Robert was a former member of the Norwalk Alliance Church and was a member of the Bronson Norwalk Conservation Club. He was a former employee of Ohio Public Service in Lorain, Ohio, City of Norwalk Electric Department and retired from Ohio Edison. Robert enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, and playing the mouth organ (Harmonica) and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Rochelle Gibson of Norwalk, Ohio and Claudia J. and Thomas Burke of Greenville, South Carolina, by his former daughter in law, Dorothy (Rash) Ruffer, of Norwalk, Ohio 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Bernetta in 2003, by his son, Daniel Rash in 1969, by his daughter, Roberta Simon in 2007, by his brothers, Howard, Ace, Lewis, and Homer Rash, by his sisters, Jenny Sabiers and Josephine Hess, and by one grandson.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
