U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II

Frank P. Kalcevic, 98, of Chippewa Twp., passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Beaver Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born October 4, 1915, in Beaver Falls, a son of the late Joseph and Josephine Kalcevic, he was a veteran of World War II serving with the U. S. Navy. He joined the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 66, where he's been a member since January 2, 1954. He was also a member of St. Monica Catholic Church where he had served as an usher for sixty years.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Julianne (Richardson) Kalcevic; four daughters and four sons-in-law, Mary Anne and Fred Herzog, New Sewickley Twp.; Geraldine and Tom Brown, Beaver Falls; Frances Stiefel, New Brighton and Chris Stiefel, Freedom; Josephine and Rich Hewitt, New Brighton; seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Kalcevic, four brothers and four sisters.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until time of blessing service at 11 a.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, with the Rev. Fr. Tom Kredel officiating.

Private internment will take place in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Chippewa Twp.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, Cardello Building, 1501 Reedsdale Street, Suite 3002, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
