Mr. Timothy Jay Jennings, 53, beloved son of Imogene Qualls Jennings and the late Robert Joseph Jennings, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 29, 2014. Born in Kingsport, TN, Tim was a lifelong resident of Scott County, VA. Due to his physical handicap, Tim resided in his parent's home his entire life. His gentle and loving spirit touched all who knew him. He was nurtured and loved deeply by his mother and father. Through his fighting spirit and love for his family, Tim taught his parents, his siblings, nieces and nephews the importance of perseverance and family. Each morning he greeted his mother with his loving smile, and he received one in return. The true measure of a person is gauged on what he leaves behind; Tim left his family with wonderful memories and unconditional love. I Corinthians 13: 4-7 states our thoughts about Tim clearly. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, and always perseveres." Tim will be truly missed on this earth, but today Heaven is richer because he is there.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Joseph Jennings and his brother-in-law, Walter Sickmen.

He leaves cherished memories to his devoted family; his mother, Imogene Qualls Jennings; his siblings, Robert Michael Jennings (Leona) of Bristol, TN, Steven Ryan Jennings of Gate City, VA, Martha Vermillion (Bill) of Kingsport, Muriel Sickmen of Kingsport, Mary Stout (Terry) of Martinez, GA and Patti Gillenwater (J.C.) of Church Hill; nieces and nephews, Daniel (Donna) Vermillion, Michael (Shawna) Vermillion, Morgan Jennings, Laura (Jimmy) Ramsey, Jennifer (Daniel) Collier, Joseph (Bekah) Adams, Logan Jennings and John Paul (Emily) Stout; great nieces and nephews; his loving aunt, Mabel Qualls; uncles, Edward Qualls (Dorothy) and J.D. Qualls; extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City. Friends may also call anytime at the residence.

A service celebrating his life will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Cloud officiating. Music will be provided by Kenneth and Gina Gillenwater and Loren Vermillion.

Burial will follow in Holston View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Vermillion, Michael Vermillion, Joseph Adams, John Paul Stout and Logan Jennings.
