SUSAN MARY SPILLMAN HOGAN, 47, of 49 Brassie Court in Gaithersburg, Md., and formerly of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, at Casey House in Rockville, Md. Born Sunday, May 31, 1959, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of Joseph B. Spillman and Bernice Barry Spillman of Hagerstown.
She was a 1977 graduate of North Hagerstown High School, and later graduated in 1981 from the University of Maryland. Susan formerly was employed with National Geographic and United Health Care. In her earlier years, Susan was a cheerleader and very active in sports at North High; she also was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and the Capitol Area Carcinoid Survivors.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Vernon Hogan, whom she married July 29, 2006; sister, Margaret S. Lepsig of Matthews, N.C.; and two brothers, Joseph B. Spillman Jr. of Ellicott City, Md., and Barry A. Spillman and wife, Jan, of Ellicott City.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church, Hagerstown; arrangements were handled by the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown; interment was in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
