He was born in Stokes County to the late William and Margaret C. Cain on Feb. 15, 1908.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Isom Baptist Church.
Mr. Cain loved his Lord, his family and his friends. He will be missed by so many who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Eva Tilley Cain, in 1993 and his son, Jessie Aldene Cain, in 1933.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Betty) Tilley, Mrs. Herman (Harriet) Mabe and Ms. Mary Frances Cain; a son, George Leroy Cain (Ailene), all of Walnut Cove; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Tilley, Kevin Tilley, Karen Flinchum, Robin Scott and Sharon Moore; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Tilley of Mount Airy.
A 2 p.m. funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Isom Baptist Church with the Rev. Chester Montgomery and the Rev. Ralph Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Burroughs Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. Cain's daughter, Mary Frances.
