Steve Stephens, our gentle giant fought his last battle on Oct. 31, 1997.

He was born June 12, 1945 in Grayson, Kentucky to Homer Edward and Elizabeth Ann Frieze Stephens. He married Patricia Jean Baumgaertel April 9, 1964 in Kearns, Utah. He worked for Zellerbach/Mead Paper Co. for 21 years where he started packaging and loading docks and at the end of his career he was operations manager of the Salt Lake facility. His sense of humor and his wit got him through his many battles. A loyal and fair man with so much integrity, but his analogies of life's every situation will be missed the most.

Survived by his wife, Pat; sons, Thomas, Robert, and Jamie; the light of his life, his eight grandchildren; mother, sisters, Nancy (Pomfie) Robles, Betty (Mel) Mulkey, Roberta (Robert) Goodenough; brothers, Mike (Joyce), Ron (Regina); many nieces and nephews, and his "Moon Beam" family, especially Jess.

A special thanks to the Angels on East 8 and to Dr. Rielly's oncology staff.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, where friends and family may call Monday 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
