Dean, a farmer, was in swimming Saturday morning with several companions. He was evidently seized with cramps and called for help. Thomas Nichols, Garden City boy, attempte to rescue him, but Dean drug hin under water, and almost almost drowne Nichols. Several companions rescue Nichols, who was in bad shape, and drug Dean to the bank, but he could not be resusciated.
The deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Syd Dean and by a brother and sister.
Funeral services and burial were held in Garden City Sunday.
