Sept. 12, 1928 - Jan. 23, 2014
Resident of San Mateo
A resident of San Mateo, Virginia (also known as "Zoni") passed away peacefully at home on January 23, 2014. Best known for her zest of life and contagiously positive personality, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
After attending the University of Washington, she moved to California in search of a career, love, and starting a family. Virginia worked for the Secret Service in San Francisco prior to meeting and marrying the love of her life, the late Robert Allen Todd. She and Bob settled in San Mateo where they raised their 2 children.
Virginia worked as a Legal Secretary at several law offices in San Mateo before serving as Executive Judicial Secretary for the San Mateo County Superior Courthouse in Redwood City for many years prior to retiring. Virginia was most proud of working with all the honorable judges and staff; it was truly a highlight of her career. She also passionately served on the Legal Secretary Committee.
Virginia was an active member of the Congregational Church of San Mateo, and actively volunteered in the church office for several years.
She is survived by her loving son Bob Todd (and wife Linda) of Woodside; and adoring daughter Betsy Wienckowski (and husband Shawn) of San Carlos, and their beloved children, Tyler, Chase and Blake.
Virginia's family wishes to acknowledge all the love and care provided by her in-home caregivers, Jane, Veronica and Flora, over the last year of her blessed life.
