Church Membership: Tappan Dutch Reformed Church

Date: 1724

Johannes supported the church with regular contributions through the church's first thirty years.

In 1720, the "List of Contributions to the Tappan Church, 1694 to 1723" included a notation, "Capt. Johannes Blauvelt," in the column where the contributions of "Johannes Ger. Blauvelt" were recorded.

In the thirtieth anniversary year of the Tappan Church, "Johannes Gerritsen Blauvelt" was listed among the
"Persons Holding Sittings in the Tappan Church in 1724." The "Catharina Blauvelt" in the same 1724 list was probably Johannes' wife, or less likely his daughter, Catharina.

Neither his wife nor his daughter were listed in the Roll of Members from the Tappan Church.
