Bobbie F. Harrah passed away peacefully on January 26, 2014. She was born November 27, 1933 to Henry Calvin McFarland and Claudie Mae Casner.
She was very proud of her father, a cowboy with a reputation for being honest and hard-working. Bobbie inherited these traits.
She lost her father when she was seven years old and then her mother when she was nine. Bobbie's sister Myrtle took her in and raised her with her own daughter Emogene.
When Bobbie was a junior in high school she decided to get married to Novel Neil Harrah. She promised herself that she would graduate from high school because none of her brothers or sisters had done it; The war prevented her brothers from doing it. Bobbie was always proud she did this.
Her first child Dee, was born a year after she graduated high school. Then Uncle Sam entered the picture and took Neil away to the army for two years. When he came home from overseas he was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington This was the first time Bobbie was forced to live away from Winslow.
Her second child, Walter, Was born in 1956. In 1958, Bobbie, Neil, and the kids, Moved to Page for six months while Neil worked on the Glen Canyon Dam. Bobbie and Neil's third child, Donna, was born in 1959.
In 1965 Bobbie had to move her family once more- this time to Oklahoma while Neil went to farrier school. When Neil finished school, Bobbie was able to come back to the town she loved and never wanted to leave again.
Bobbie worked for 13 years as a secretary at the catholic school. She loved her catholic school kids and the nuns and was proud to be a "Mormolic." She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a primary teacher, Young Women's President, and was the Stake Librarian for more than 20 years.
She was an avid reader and loved to toll paint, a hobby she took up with her niece Barbara. Most of all Bobbie loved to spend time with her family, go on picnics and play games. She had a great sense of humor and was kind and loving to everyone except the person in front of her on the road.
Bobbie is Survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Neil; her three children Linda Deanne "Dee" (Mark) Marquez, Walter Neil (Wendy) Harrah, and Donna Lyn (Ron) Payne; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Calvin McFarland and Claudie Mae Casner McFarland; her 3 brothers and 7 sisters; and one grandson, Robert Neil Harrah.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 31st at 10:00 A.M. at the LDS Church in Winslow. Viewing will be held one hour prior in the relief society room. Interment at Desert View Cemetery to follow.
