Robert J. Mahan Sr., 83, of Marcellus, died Monday. Robert was a life resident of Marcellus. He worked 27 years for Allied Chemical, retiring in 1986, and then worked 17 years at Sacred Heart Basilica, retiring in 2007. Robert was a 30-year member of the Marcellus Fire Department and a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church, Marcellus. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Alice J. Mahan; two sons, Robert Jr. (Heidi) Mahan and Thomas G. Mahan, both of Marcellus; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 1 at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
