SOUTH BEND - Craig Alan Hill, 60, of South Bend, passed away suddenly at Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Craig was born May 13, 1953 in South Bend, to the late Thomas E. and Helen Z. (Yustwan) Hill. He was also preceded in death by his uncle Robert W. Yustwan of South Bend. Craig is survived his sister, Vicki Hill, of Pleasant Hill, California, brothers; Charlie Niblick (Kathy), and Bill Niblick, both of South Bend; aunt, Telesia Yustwan, of South Bend; cousins, Bobbie (Yustwan) VanOsdal (Warren), of Granger, and Linda (Yustwan) Mikulak (Mike), of Ocala, FL; niece, Penni Linner (Mike) of South Bend; and nephews, Shawn Niblick and Eric Niblick, both of South Bend. Craig graduated from LaSalle High School in 1971, and received his degree in Architectural Drafting from Indiana Vocational Technical College, 1971-1973. He was employed by the County Planning Commission, Cole & Associates Inc., and most recently by Comfort Suites in South Bend. Craig loved fishing, gardening, music, bowling, the New York Yankees, Green Bay Packers, spending time outside, and being with family and friends. Craig was a gentle gracious soul with an enormous heart willing to help or share when needed. He was always happy, appreciative and content, even in adversity. We will miss him dearly and will always remember his kind disposition, his generosity, smiling face, and his easygoing persona. Craig donated to several causes, The Audubon Society and Disabled Veterans to name a couple. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with Rev. James Campbell officiating. Committal service and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at the funeral home.
