Mrs. Afton Lavon Anderson Butler, 40, 1029 Emery Street (1140 West), died Sunday 3:05 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital of natural causes.

Born July 13, 1922, Salt Lake City, to Frederic Charles and Isabella Torrie Anderson. Married to Howard George Butler, July 28, 1943, in Salt Lake City. Later solemnized in Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Active in LDS Church, Primary, Sunday School, and Relief Society organizations.

Survivors: husband; son, daughters, Wayne Howard, Susan Elizabeth, Marlene Kaye, Salt Lake City; mother, Hunter; brother, Lester W., Granger; sisters, Mrs. Noalen (Mabel) Petersen, Granger; Mrs. Chris (Elma) Pugmire, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Merrill L. (Cora) Petersen, Ogden; Mrs. Alfred (Margaret) Butler, Bellflower, Calif.

Funeral Wednesday 1 p.m. Cannon Sixth Ward Chapel, 934 Fremont Ave. (1104 South). Friends may call at 4330 S. Redwood Rd., Tuesday 7-9 p.m., and at the chapel Wednesday one hour prior to services. Burial, Memorial Gardens of the Valley.
