Pauline Clara Loerwald Howard 1929 - 2014

Pauline Clara Loerwald Howard, 84, longtime Hereford resident died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Hereford Nursing & Rehab Center.

A Graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Anthony Neusch, Parish Priest, St. Anthony's Catholic Church will officiate. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street.

Pauline was born March 29, 1929, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Joseph and Clara (Lueb) Loerwald. On March 25, 1949, Pauline "Leny" married her best friend and the love of her life, William "Bill" Howard, in Hereford. She was a financial loan officer and manager for over 40 years at the Hereford Texas Federal Credit Union. She was a great caring financial friend to many in the Hereford community during her days as a loan officer. She liked to travel with her Jaycee friends, attend sporting events, playing bridge, gardening, golfing and cooking. Most of all, she loved caring for her best friend and loving husband Bill.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; 6 brothers, Edmund, Eugene, Larry, Sylvester, Harold and George Loerwald and 1 sister, Ruth Loerwald.

Survivors include her husband Bill Howard of the home; sisters-in-law; Adeline Loerwald of Hereford, Helena Loerwald of Westminister, CO, Ruth Caldwell of Denver, CO, Betty Donaldson of Ohio, Niece Pat Simnacher and husband Albert of Hereford; cousin, Alice Lueb of Hereford, friend Mary Lewis of Hereford and many other nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers to St. Anthony's Catholic School Endowment Fund, 114 Sunset Drive, Hereford, Texas, 79045, and/or Samaritan Hospice, 426 Main Street, Hereford, Texas 79045.
