Jonathan Turner, Jr., 45 of Saginaw Township, passed away at home Monday, January 20, 2014 after a lengthy illness. He was born May 1, 1968 to Jonathan Sr. and Judith (Mason) Turner. Jon graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1986 and later from DeVry University in Columbus, Ohio. He worked several years in the computer and software sales area, first at Landmark Systems, Inc. in Detroit, then at Netwave Corporation in Columbus, Ohio, and most recently at SPI Innovations in Freeland, Michigan, as a business development consultant. On October 5, 1991, Jon was married to Tammy Sizick. Though they divorced after 20 years of marriage, they remained very close friends throughout his life. Jon enjoyed life, the Michigan State Spartans, golfing and NASCAR. He most loved spending time with his family and friends who will truly miss his joy and excitement for life. Jon is survived by his father, Jonathan Turner Sr. (Gidget Cady) of Whitehall; his mother, Judith (Felix) Lara of Bay City; sister, Julee (Bob) Rick; three stepsisters, Gloria Lara (Todd Stewart), Diane (Tom) Miller, and Cindy Godt; stepbrother, Jason Godt; nephews, Gregory, Marcus, Brenden Kapp and Cody Brown; nieces Alyssa Kapp, Goldie (Mark) Drake, and Anna McTaggart. Jon also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, and many wonderful friends. Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Edsel and Grayce Mason, Cecil and Joyce Turner and several aunts and uncles. A celebration of Jon's life will be held at Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting you consider donations to Grace Hospice.
