Darnell Dewaine Harris was born on March 25, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gwendolyn Harris.
Darnell was educated in the Kansas City School District. He enlisted in the United States Army, where he held the title of, Tactical Operations Specialist. He also had the opportunity to work with some very nice people at Safe Lite Auto.
Darnell was a very out spoken and very straight forward person. He was a realist and a perfectionist in everything he did, it had to be done correct, neat, and in order. He loved his family especially his grandchildren.
Darnell Dewaine Harris leaves to cherish his memories, his family, Helen Harris; his son, Stephen Dewaine Davis; daughter, Latrice Rogers; five grandchildren: Natasha Davis, Stephen Davis, Jr., Dominic Davis, Evan Rogers, and Erica Sims: three brothers: Gary Harris, Fredric Harris (Mickey), and Robert Harris; four brother-in-laws: Charles McPherson, James McPherson, Eugene Sims, and Terry Sims; one sister-in-law, Sharon Sims; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Darnell Dwaine Harris will be held on Saturday, February 1, 1:00 p.m. at The Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at The Chapel.
Interment, Monday, Leavenworth National Cemetery.
