Dana Dwaine Abbott, age 65, of Tavares passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014. He was born October 9, 1948 in Yakima, WA and moved to FL in 1994 from Columbus, NE. He was a retired tool and die machinist and a member of Altoona Baptist Church. He loved to build and play Theremins in his spare time. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Billie D. Abbott of Tavares, FL; son, Corey D. Abbott of Leesburg, FL; daughters, Michelle D. Mallia of Webster, TX and Shantelle M. Suiter of Columbus, NE; brother, Ron Abbott of Aurora, CO; sister, Diane DeWine of Columbus, NE; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Tavares Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org/donate
