GUETTNER, THELMA BAILEY - age 91, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday morning, January 28, 2014, at NHC in Oak Ridge. She was born January 15, 1923, in Dante, Virginia, to the late W. T. (Bill) Bailey and Ena Grace Yankee Bailey. She was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church on Lawnville Road in Kingston. Thelma was a charter member of Port Clinton, OH Mothers of Twins Club. She worked in the 1940's at Erie Proving Grounds in Ohio and Hunters Point Navy Yard in San Francisco, CA. Thelma loved gardening, flowers, swimming, dancing, family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Leonard H. Guettner; sisters, June Byrd, Ramona May, and Jewel Jones; longtime friend, Joseph J. Ricci. Survived by sons, John N. Guy of Woodstock, GA, Thomas L. Guy of Kingston; grandson, Ken Guy; granddaughter, Stacey Lewis of Woodstock, GA; ex-husband, John E. Guy of Martinez, GA; sisters, Oklee Yeckley of Port Clinton, OH, and Colleen Hembree of Lenoir City; brother, Billy Joe Bailey of Fayetteville, NC; many nieces and nephews in OH, TN and NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will gather at 11:30 Saturday morning in the Poplar Springs Cemetery in Kingston for graveside services and interment.
