The following information was provided to me from one of the contributors to Find a Grave. I wanted to share so I just copied and pasted what was sent to me in hopes it would benefit others researching Mr. Clay. The contributor was C. Bozeman- thanks to them for submitting.
D. H. Clay and his wife, Martha J, have CSA pension apps on line in the GA archives Virtual vault. He says he was born about 1840 in Wilkinson County and enlisted in July 1861 with Company H of the 13th Ga. His service record says he was wounded, captured and paroled home in May 1864. Her pension application shows proof of marriage of David H. Clay and Martha J Guest on March 23, 1876. She confirms his unit and the details and gives his date of death as 1903 in Decatur Co. Clay, Martha J Mrs
