  Erwin Schumacher Jr., of Creve Coeur, Mo., office manager of Barford Chevrolet in Clayton, Mo., the past 14 years, died Wednesday in Methodist Hospital, Houston, Tex., following open heart surgery Tuesday. He was a former Edwardsville resident.
  He was born Aug. 23, 1931, in Hamel, a son of the late Erwin Schumacher Sr. and Mrs. Emma Schumacher, who survives.
  He was married to Jane Mindrup on Sept. 2, 1951. She survives, as do sons Lee Schumacher, Kerry Schumacher, Kym Schumacher, Danny Schumacher, Eric Schumacher and Steve Schumacher, all living at home.
  Other survivors include brothers Elmer Schumacher of Edwardsville and Hilbert Schumacher of Hamel, sisters Mrs. Raymond (Hilda) Moehle and Mrs. Albert (Ruth) Ernst, both of Hamel, Mrs. William (Helen) Klausing of Troy and Mrs. Vernon (Irma) Ernst of Springfield.
  Mr. Schumacher was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Olivette, Mo.
  Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Gust Baumann Funeral Home, 2504 Woodson Road, Overland, Mo.  Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
