Claude R. Langford, 80, of Dalton City, died 3:45 p.m. Tuesday (May 2, 1995) in Decatur.

He was born July 13, 1914 in Walnut, the son of Amelia and Bobby Langford. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Inez Norden. He married Dorothy A. Tuckerman in 1937. She survives.

Also surviving are his son, Dean (Nancy) Langford; grandson, Rev. Douglas (Sharon) Langford; stepgrandson, J.P. Bretl; brother, Jay (Louise) Langford; sister, Rita Ann and husband Dr. Ronald Hopkins and nine nieces and nephews.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He graduated from the School of Banking, University of Wisconsin in 1949, and for several years was cashier of the Citizens State Bank in Walnut.
