Georgia Vernabell (Sikes) Moran, 88, of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014, in Bradenton. Born February 22, 1925 in Fargo, ND, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Josie (Ledbetter) Sikes. She was a graduate of Attica High School.
Georgia married John Chapman Moran on June 1, 1962 in Crawfordsville and he survives. She was a typesetter at R.R. Donnelley's in Crawfordsville for 5 years and owned and managed apartments houses in Crawfordsville. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Crawfordsville and she enjoyed playing shuffleboard.
Surviving with her husband are her children: a son, Dana Moran (wife, Marion) of Greencove Springs, FL, three daughters, LuJuana Billerman (husband, Bill) of Indianapolis, IN, Karen Rochester (husband, Larry) of Lafayette, and Sharon Shehan (husband, Chuck) of Bradenton, FL; sister-in-law, Mickey Sikes of Sun City, AZ; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Bill, Calvin, Jack, Frank, Sherman, and Jerry Sikes, a sister, Crey Eaton, and a grandson, William Billerman, Jr.
Private burial at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
