Obituary:Nancy R. Ballard, 72, of Barneveld, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at home with her family by her side. She was born August 27, 1940 in Stittville, the daughter of Donald and Rosemond Sexton Yocum. She was a graduate of Holland Patent Central High School and attended SUNY-Oswego. On May 21, 1960, she married James Ballard in Taberg.
Nancy was a member of the Trenton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed organizing her high school class reunions. She was also an avid bridge player.
Surviving besides her loving husband of 53 years, James, are her mother, Rosemond Yocum, of Barneveld; two daughters, Jo Ann Davis, of Buchanan, NY and Susan Harrington, of Barneveld; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Carol Yocum, of Barneveld; and two cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jenna Rose. She was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Yocum.
Services: A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, August 27 at 10:30am at the Trenton United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Contributions may be made in Nancy's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
