Mr. Bobby Gerald "Hoover" Gregory, age 77, husband of Shirley Morris Gregory of 402 W. Hillcrest Avenue, Union, passed away Monday evening, January 27, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Gregory was born in Buffalo, SC January 7, 1937, a son of the late Franklin M. Gregory and Odessa Keisler Gregory. He was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from the City of Union Utilities Department. Mr. Gregory was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon; was a faithful member of the choir and had served on various committees.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Tony Gregory and wife Sue; a granddaughter, Ellen Gregory; a grandson, Matt Gregory all of Union and an "adopted" granddaughter, Michelle Weil and husband Daniel and their sons of Summerville.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, January 30, 2014 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Lynn Ford and Rev. Wayne Cook. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Bobby Hicks, Larry O'Shields, David Lavender, Doug Johnson, Franklin Pridemore and David Barber. The following are asked to serve as Honorary Pallbearers: Members of the Harold Lawson Sunday School Class of Buffalo Baptist Church, Mr. and Mrs Bruce Bentenbaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Crissinger, Mrs. Monty Lancaster, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gregory, Mrs. Amanda Gregory Leigh and Mr. and Mrs. George Lawrence.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.
