Marcia entered this life on May 17, 1939, in Kansas City, Mo., to the late Miller and Yvette (Woodard) Fields. She was raised in Lees Summit, Mo., where she graduated high school in 1957. She furthered her education by attending Central College, Missouri University and Kansas City Junior College.
On Dec. 22, 1962, she was united in marriage to Robert G. "Bob" Russell and together they have shared the last 51 years. They resided in Kansas City, Lees Summit and Broomfield, Colo., before moving to Joplin in 1985. She was a homemaker throughout her life and was a 54 year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Marcia is survived by her husband, Robert Russell, of the home; a sister, Stephanie Mahnken, of Greenwood, Mo.; as well as a host of other family.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, Kan., under the direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin.
In lieu of flowers memorials are being directed to the Joplin Humane Society and contributions may be left at the mortuary. No formal visitation will be held.
