Paul O. Cochran, age 89 of Rensselaer, passed away at the Jasper County Hospital on Monday, January 27, 2014.

He was born in McCoysburg, on July 2, 1924, the son of Roy Lee Cochran and Tillis Ringheisen Cochran. On April 11, 1946, he married Muriel Joan Jordan. She passed away on May 2, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one great-grandson, Avery Bell, one great-great grandson, Tristan Avery Bell and three brothers.

Surviving are four children, Paula (Robert) Bell, Russell (Donna) Cochran, Deborah (Bill) Brown and Linda (Michael) Pugh; thirteen grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

He joined the U.S. Army where he was an automotive mechanic with Company B #303 in World War II. He served in the American Theater and was the recipient of 2 Bronze Star Medals.

He was a truck driver and deliveryman for 21 years at Hick's Gas in Rensselaer.
