Celia Charlotte Adams, 95, of Schaffer Road, Bloomsburg, formerly of Lightstreet and Nescopeck, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.
Born in Nescopeck on July 19, 1918, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Daisy Catherine (Freas) Cooper. She attended Nescopeck High School.
Celia was employed at Milco Industries, Bloomsburg, for more than 30 years prior to retirement.
She was a member of the former Albright United Methodist Church, Nescopeck, and was involved with the Albright missions. She also assisted with the Wesley United Methodist Church food bank. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, cooking and gardening, as well as going to craft fairs where she showed her crafts.
She is survived by her son, Leon Deemer, and his wife Elaine, Elverson; daughter, June Artley of Nescopeck and her husband Thomas, Lancaster; grandchildren: Keith Deemer, Elverson; Kris Deemer Galdi, Pottstown; Randy Artley, Lancaster; Rodney Artley, Lancaster; Jeffrey McCreary, Nescopeck Township; Shawn McCreary, Bloomsburg, as well as 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Adams, in 1991; her first husband, Leon C. Deemer, in 1961; daughter, Jane McCreary, and 10 sisters and brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Heller Funeral Home, 633 E. Third St., Nescopeck, with the Rev. William Mackey-Wisor officiating. Interment will follow at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
