Albert Hayes "Ozzie" Osborne, 85, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006. He was born on July 23, 1920 in McLean, Texas, and grew up in Shamrock, Texas. He joined the Navy in 1936 and had a distinguished 24-year career which included serving in World War II and the Korean War. He worked for the Raytheon Corporation for 15 years at the Newport News Shipyard. Mr. Osborne was preceded in death by his parents, Johnathan and Alice Hayes Osborne; sister, Christine Wilhelm; son-in-law, Peter Geckeler.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lorraine Bradley Osborne; daughter, Suzanne Osborne Bowman and Paul Bowman of Woodruff, Wisc.; son, Harold Osborne and Faye Morrell Osborne of Fredericksburg, Va., son, Richard Osborne of Norfolk, Va.; daughter, Cathy Osborne Sitaras and George Sitaras of Chesapeake, Va.; daughter, Sally Osborne Geckeler of Alpharetta; sister, Joan Osborne Owens and Leo Owens of Nashville, Ark.; 14 grandchildren and five great
grandchildren. A graveside service with full military honors will be held Monday, April 17, at 4 p.m. at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
