Dr. Clifford Raymer Hayes Jr., 81, of Bowling Green, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at The Medical Center.

He is the son of the late Clifford Raymer Hayes Sr. and Tina Pauline Forshee Hayes. Clifford was a loving husband, father and a good Pa. Clifford was a United States Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War, a member and past master of the Neel Masonic Lodge No. 833 F&AM, a past district deputy of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky and also a member of the Eastern Star. He was a member of Old Union Missionary Baptist Church, a deacon and a past Sunday school teacher. For many years, he was the face of the Old Union Minister School and was also a past teacher at the Old Union School. He is a retired doctor of dentistry who practiced in Bowling Green for 38 years, a member of Pennyrile Dental Society and a member of the Kentucky Dental Board of Examiners.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Martha "Jo Jo" Hayes; four sons, Danny Hayes and his wife, Wanda, Joey Hayes and his wife, Paulita, all of Bowling Green, Patrick Hayes of Georgiana, Ala., and Ben Hayes and his wife, Ashley, of Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister, Nancy Ford and her husband, Bob, of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Stacy Huntsman and her husband, Stephen, Megan Carter and her husband, David, Caleb Hayes, Micah Hayes and Maddie-Jo Hayes, Magon Anderson and her husband, Nick, Kristin Thompson and Drew Hayes; great-grandchildren, Trey, Alex and Allison Hunstman, Scotty and Marlie Carter, Jaxson and Isabella Drago and Sierra Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at J.C. Kirby & Son, Lovers Lane chapel, with a masonic service at 7 p.m. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Old Union Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial at Old Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
