Word has been received of the death December 13 of Howard Strauss who died at Moses Lake, Wash., at the age of 70. Strauss formerly lived in Conrad and owned and operated the Independent Observer for six years. He is survived by his wife, Mabel, and two sons Robert and Jerry both of California. He was a son in law of Mrs. Ralph Gookin and a brother in law of Ahler Hopkins and visited here often.
