During 1941-1944, Strauch appeared in Republic westerns,
(with Gene Autry and with Bob Livingston).
Joe Strauch Jr. had a couple roles as an extra and as George McFarland's stunt double before getting a significant role as Tubby in Fightin' Fools. After that he appeared in several more films. His first screen character was in the Autry movies as Smiley Burnette's nephew 'Tadpole', and he wore the same basic outfit as Burnette ... and was a younger version of the Burnette character 'Frog Millhouse'. His movie career ended in 1947.
