Olive Jane was the daugher of Martin and Eliza (Miller) Grover. She married Alvin David Howe on September 15, 1906, and they had three children together: Lola, Bernetta, and Martin. She later remarried James S. Allen on May 28, 1917. They had one son together, James Gordon Allen, who died at 6 months of age. After their divorce in 1925, Olive then married Gordon Harcourt Lane on August 12, 1930, and they were together until Gordon's death in 1965.
