Lt. Col. David Woodrow Keeling (Retired), age 93 of Adams, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at his home.


Private Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with Reverend Ken Gillespie officiating and full military honors.


The family will receive friends at Robertson County Funeral Home Monday .


Mr. Keeling was born April 2, 1920 in Springfield, KY to the late Herbert Franklin and Eva Cheatham Keeling.


He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he was a pilot, having served in WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War and was a recpient of two Bronze Stars. After his military career, he retired from General Electric as a purchasing agent and Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, and he was a Christian.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Yadon Keeling; a son, David Fredrick Keeling; a grandson, Michael Chappell; and a brother, Eugene Wesley Keeling.


He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Renee Keeling Pellaton of Concord, CA and Linda Jean Keeling Chappell of Adams; brothers, Leo Keeling and John Edward Keeling, both of Springfield, KY; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Field of Michigan; grandchildren, Douglas Chappell,, Laura Pellaton, Eric Keeling, and Davis Keeling; and two great grandchildren.


The family request that if so desired, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. All donations may be sent care of the Robertson County Funeral Home.
