GUSTAVUS - Steve Ragalyi Jr., 81, died on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland.
He was born on Sept. 19, 1932, in Gustavus, the son of Steve Sr. and Elizabeth Szabo Ragalyi.
Steve was a 1950 graduate of Gustavus High School and served in the United States Army from 1955 through 1957.
On Oct. 24, 1953, he married Marian Jean Davison.
He was a retired dairy farmer, an antique tractor enthusiast and enjoyed watching football.
Steve served three terms as a Gustavus Township trustee and was an avid local historian. His favorite pastime was visiting with his many friends and neighbors at the local restaurants.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jean Ragalyi of Gustavus; two daughters, Ruth A. (Ralph) Barker and Betty J. (James) Verina, both of Kinsman; a son, Steven P. Ragalyi of Fowler; two sisters, Irene F. (Loyd) Marshall and Anne E. Wear, both of Gustavus; and three grandchildren, Matthew R. (Julie) Barker and Kristen and Kaitlyn Verina all of Kinsman.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Robert Ragalyi; a brother, Albert Ragalyi; his stepmother, Myrtle Chambers Ragalyi; and two stepbrothers, Rolland and Robert Chambers.
At Steve's request, no public services will be held.
