EVERETT "TOM" HARPER, JR., 44, of Waterloo, Illinois, formerly of Belleville, Illinois, born July 28, 1969, in Centreville, Ilinois, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, at his residence.

Tom was a very good artist and loved to draw. He had a strong belief in God and loved to care for animals.

He was preceded in death by his father, Everett T. Harper, Sr. and his grandparents, Frank and Venita Harper and Earl and Lucille Hochstatter.

Surviving are his mother, Judith Harper, nee Hochstatter, of Baldwin, IL; a sister, Amy (Shane) Sellers of Waterloo, IL; a nephew, Blake Harper; and two nieces, Brooke and Lacie Sellers. He was a dear nephew, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made to help mental health research.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois, Funeral

Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the funeral home, with Pastor Roger Reid officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.
