She was born July 27, 1896 at Fosston to Iver and Ingeborg Bruun. They moved to Buzzle Township in 1900, where she grew up and attended school. She was married to Bennett Johnson and later to H. Grover Amundson. Since the late 1970's she has been a resident of Beltrami Nursing Home. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Pinewood Legion Auxiliary, the Pinewood Homemakers Club and the Pinewood Garden Club.
She is survived by five sons, George Johnson of Clearbrook, Benny Johnson of LaMont IL, Kenneth Johnson of Northbrook, IL, G. Howard Amundson of Zion, IL, and Art Amundson of Bemidji; one daughter, Carol (Mrs. Nick) Kersting of Wilton; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, four brothers, one sister and four grandchildren. (Bemidji Pioneer Sept. 25, 1988)
