Funeral services for Mr. Billy Ray Huckaby, 78, of Anniston, will be 11 a.m., Monday, October 22, 2012, at Golden Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Roland Brown, Bro. Ray Lloyd and Pastor Garry Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 5-7 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs.

Mr. Huckaby passed away Friday evening at his home in Anniston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will A. and Lannie Huckaby and a sister, Gladys Dethrage.

A native of Calhoun county, Mr. Huckaby was an active member of Golden Springs Baptist Church and the Anniston Jaycees.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty J. Huckaby; two sons, Mack Huckaby and his wife, Lisa (Durden) Huckaby; and Mark Huckaby; three grandchildren, Tyler Huckaby, Madison Huckaby and Shelby Huckaby; sister, Bernice (Huckaby) Watkins and her husband, Clifford Gerald Watkins; two brothers, Chester Gay Huckaby and his wife Barbara (Owen) Huckaby, and Lester Huckaby and his wife Agnes; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Watson, Bob Babcock, Kenneth Gibson, David Dethrage, Randy Huckaby, Daniel Huckaby, Alan Medders, Rickie Shaw, Alan Harrelson, and Joey Burn.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Pastor Garry Burns, staff and students of the Center of Hope.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Mr. Huckaby's caregivers, Joey Burn, Theresa Milstead and Brandy Chaney.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center of Hope 2906 Bynum Leatherwood Road, Anniston, AL 36201 or to Golden Springs Baptist Church 3 Robertson Road, Anniston, AL 36207.

Mrs. Huckaby died Friday, Aug. 2.

A native of Roanoke, Mrs. Huckaby was a member of Golden Springs Baptist Church and was a member of Anniston Jaycees for many years. She was also the former owner of Primitive Pineapple Antiques and Gifts.

Mrs. Huckaby is survived by her sons, Mack Huckaby and his wife, Lisa, and Mark Huckaby; and three grandchildren, all of Anniston; her sisters, JoAnn Harrelson of Saks and Nancy Fincher of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews and their children. Mrs. Huckaby was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Billy Ray Huckaby, and her parents, Sonny and Mildred Florence.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions to Golden Springs Baptist Church, 3 Robertson Rd., Anniston, AL 36207 or to The Center of Hope, 2906 Bynum Leatherwood Rd., Anniston, AL 36201.
