EAST PRAIRIE -- Imogine Burney, 83, died at 12:02 a.m. July 6, 2007, in East Prairie.
Born June 9, 1924, in Paris, Tenn., daughter of the late Stanley B. and Ruthie L. Cook Thomas, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life, where she was a member of the Dorena Baptist Church.
On Dec. 19, 1942, in Charleston, she married Bob Burney, who preceded her in death on March 9, 1999.
Three sisters, Avil Burgess, Myrtle Aday and Elizabeth Peterson; and two brothers, Lendo Thomas and Ira Thomas, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Rex E. and Paula Burney and Clayton T. Burney of East Prairie; one brother, Marion Thomas of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Irene Thomas of East Prairie and Evelyn Presson of Charleston; and two grandchildren, Rex A. Burney and Natasha Burney of East Prairie.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where serviced are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday. Martin Lucas will officiate.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
