Diane K. Steele, age 59, of Lake Mills, died Saturday, January 25, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Center Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Lake Mills, with Rev. Thomas Rank officiating. Burial will be in Center Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street in Lake Mills and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Diane Kay (Anderson) Steele was born June 29, 1954, at the hospital in Forest City, IA, the daughter of Gorden and Kay (Geddes) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at Center Evangelical Lutheran Church. She attended Scarville Christian Day School for five years, then attended and graduated from Lake Mills High School "Class of 1972".
Diane was united in marriage to Bruce Steele on November 20, 1976.
Family was very important to Diane. She was a lifelong member of Center Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, was married at and served as main organist for forty-six years.
She loved music, reading books, raising hosta (she had over 300 different varieties), quilting, Belgian horses, traveling, attending horse sales, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. She loved cats and her favorite dog "Snickers". Diane had worked at Deluxe/Fleetguard/Cummins in Lake Mills for thirty-seven years.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce of Lake Mills, IA; her mother and father, Gorden and Kay Anderson of Scarville, IA; mother-in-law, Carmen Steele of Albert Lea, MN; brothers and sisters, Julie (Kent) Swenson of Scarville, IA; Gorden Jr. (Denise) Anderson and Geoffrey (Jodie) Anderson, all of Leland, IA; Annette (Brian) Larson of Janesville, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie (Mary) Steele of Ellendale, MN; David Steele and Jim (Mary Kaye) Steele, all of Albert Lea, MN; special cousin, Mark (Sandy) Haugen of Forest City, IA; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; father-in-law, Raymond Steele in 2007; and aunts, Gloria Haugen and Jane Geddes.
